My 150th post

OK, so after weeks of pondering my nearly fatal jump, I figured it out. While jumping over a medium sized puddle, I watched my feet. Yes, my legs are long, so the jump is possible, however, after I "leap" I pull my foot back in about 6 inches. The result is my foot falls about 6 inches shy of the targeted landing space. This was found out when I landed smack dab in the middle of the puddle.

On another note, I will be getting my replacement phone in 5-6 business days.

When you see a man carrying a cross down, you KNOW that HE WILL NEVER COME BACK!!!

We went hiking. It was adventurous and dangerous, but not hard. I got scratches, as did Bekah and Jacob, however B.J. had no dirt or scratches.

We got "lost" according to some. Were were just near the path, but some would not let us pillage forward. Needless to say, a few in my company would not be able to be Pilgrims, nor hitchhikers, nor mountain goats, nor graceful under pressure.

It was fun though!!!On to Tunica Hills!!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY BOB AND SHARON!!!!!

Re-vamp

In case I haven't told anyone for the past week I HATE the dog. If I didn't hate it before, I really hate it now. The tears and drama to follow are now stirred with the fact that the dog has to go, before I poison it. I moved the red couch out to the street yesterday. And today I will be painting. It actually might look good. I have a fun filled day ahead of me!

Here is a semi-entertaining mothers day video. It is kinda amusing, but a tad too long.

This is my prayer. I want to love the bretheren in deed and in Truth, meaning I have to walk in Christ.

To love in deed and truth, I have to walk like Christ, in Him alone. Every deed has to be done in His name. I must walk in His Truth, obeying every work that comes from His mouth. I must only walk in His Truth. I must strive to be Holy, Pure, Righteous, to walk in the Light, to hate sin, and to use that hatred to turn from it, to turn from all envy, stife, contention. I want to stand up in Christ and be His witness in the world.

1Jn 3:13 Marvel not, brethren, if the world hateth you.
1Jn 3:14 We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not abideth in death.
1Jn 3:15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
1Jn 3:16 Hereby know we love, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
1Jn 3:17 But whoso hath the world's goods, and beholdeth his brother in need, and shutteth up his compassion from him, how doth the love of God abide in him?
1Jn 3:18 My Little children, let us not love in word, neither with the tongue; but in deed and truth.
1Jn 3:19 Hereby shall we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our heart before him:
1Jn 3:20 because if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.
1Jn 3:21 Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, we have boldness toward God;
1Jn 3:22 and whatsoever we ask we receive of him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his sight.
1Jn 3:23 And this is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, even as he gave us commandment.
1Jn 3:24 And he that keepeth his commandments abideth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he gave us.

Act 26:15 And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest.
Act 26:16 But arise, and stand upon thy feet: for to this end have I appeared unto thee, to appoint thee a minister and a witness both of the things wherein thou hast seen me, and of the things wherein I will appear unto thee;
Act 26:17 delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom I send thee,
Act 26:18 to open their eyes, that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive remission of sins and an inheritance among them that are sanctified by faith in me.

The joys of being a freshman.

We toured LSU today, and it is a bit overwhelming, exciting but it seems like it will take years to know the fastest way to get anywhere around campus. I really don't want to do the big group tour thing, but then again, I wish I could just skip being new, and just have an auto-GPS in my brain so that I can function without completely freaking out when I go to a new section of the campus, and am seemingly lost. It was a lot to take in, but I am glad to know that Beege will show me where my classes are before hand, that really makes a difference.

I learned that having long legs doesn't exactly make me a good jumper. I jumped half in the fountains and half out at the fountains near the levee. I have a weird bruise/brush burn thing just above my knee. It doesn't look so bad, but it kinda feels like I am walking with a prosthetic knee, like I want to limp, but I don't, for fear of being to stiff and it not healing properly. Oh, and a few random blood vessels popped on my palm, it just looks like I stuck my hand in a melted cherry Popsicle. I have pretty much gotten over it now though, my first reaction was to laugh, and I did until I felt the pain and nausea. But Bekah freaked out enough for the both of us.

P.S.- Amber, I really like my hair.

P.S.S.- Deanna, how was "North and South"?

This is something that God has just been showing me lately. I have been doing a lot of reading in first John lately, and I am seeing so many things that I didn’t see when we were studying it. And they are out in the open, blaringly obvious things, but I just didn’t make note of them before.

1 John 3:4-7

4 Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. 5 And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. 6 Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.
7 Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. 8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.

In the previous chapter John talked about the Antichrist coming, and how many have already come. He says that anyone who denies the Father and the Son is antichrist. Saying for no one to be deceived by anyone who is not righteous, for you know that anyone who practices righteousness(equitable (in character or act); by implication innocent, holy (absolutely or relatively): - just, meet, right (-eous)) is of the Father.

It says in Ch. 3 vs. 8 that through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ we are made able to be righteous, not sinning.

Romans 6:1-14 says:

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?
2 Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? 3 Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? 4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5 For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, 6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. 7 For he who has died has been freed from sin. 8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, 9 knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. 10 For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. 11 Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. 13 And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. 14 For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.

This completely blows the theory of “well, I am only human, and there has to be grace.” Bite me. I am so sick of this cop-out. Yes, you are human (the day that you are not anymore let me know), but that does not give you an excuse to sin. In fact it specifically says that sin does not have dominion over us because we are under grace. Now does this mean we are not going to sin, maybe not, but it does mean that we have the choice not to. Are we walking in NEWNESS OF LIFE, like Lauren said?

1 John 3:10-15
10 In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother. 11 For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another, 12 not as Cain who was of the wicked one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his works were evil and his brother's righteous.
13 Do not marvel, my brethren, if the world hates you. 14 We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love his brother abides in death. 15 Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

I went back and read the story of Cain and Abel, and God showed me that Cain was religious. He made an offering, as did Abel. However, he did not offer of his first fruits, he waited, and at the end of the harvest he offered his sacrifice. Abel however offered his first fruits, the best of what he had, and he gave it right from the start. Cain is like so many religious today, he sought to please himself first, and then God, and it says that he was of the wicked one. However, Abel sought first the kingdom of God, and for that he was hated. His righteousness exposed the unrighteousness of others.

1 John 3:16-22
16 By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. 17 But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?
18 My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth. 19 And by this we [fn3] know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before Him. 20 For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things. 21 Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God. 22 And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. 23 And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment.

We are to daily lay down our life to show our love for our brother. Not a five minute prayer in the morning,, but in the same manner that Christ died for us. We are not dying to serve one another, but the Jesus in one another. I mean, you hear people say” Oh, I would jump in front of a Mack truck for you,” so do it every day. John 15:12-13 says:
12 This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends. Go show that you are a Christian. Feed the hungry. Clothe the naked. Give water to the thirsty. Love in deed and in truth. Anyone can say that they love, but prove by showing your faith by your works. Maybe if we walked iin this love, and newness of life we might see our prayers answered.

1Jo 3:14-We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.

Apparently Bekah gets bored at work and feels the need to post dumb things on my blog. That was not me. At first I thought it was some thing from Youtube. I have been trying for days to post a video, but it won't show up. If you want an interesting watch, look up "Parkour", "street climbing", or "David Belle." It is one of the coolest sports in the world if you ask me.

Testing... Testing.. Is anyone there?

Pondering

It is officially official now, I got my letter from LSU yesterday! I still have to get a few shots, and tests for some disease, but I don't think that will be a problem. I think I just might be a tad bit excited. Just a tad. Now is the time where most people spend weeks pondering on the last 17 years of their life, how quickly it has gone by, the good ole high school years, the driver's licence, first car, and so forth...I think I would rather look at where God wants to take me. I still don't know what I am going to major in. I like English, but I stink at it when it comes to the actual classroom. I love science, Biology and Physics mainly, and am good at math, but would not want to spend the rest of my life figuring numbers. I would enjoy being a general surgeon, you get to cut people open, with out the getting too attached to them part that would come as a nurse. I would also enjoy anything with physics. It is so cool to me that you could figure out exactly where a cherry pit would land if you dropped it out of a car moving 60 mi/hr (if you added a few more knowns to the equation). I suppose that I like it as a result of having a good teacher. I have had a few dreams, but I am not if they came from God, or the pleasure that comes from the though of actually becoming a doctor. I know missions has to work itself in somewhere. I know that my heart is not for America. I pray wholeheartedly for the people here, but I know that my heart is not for them...I just know it. But today and forevermore, I chose to be Jordan Ward, not an aspiring Dr. or Physicist, but a follower of Jesus Christ until the day I die, knowing that if I seek Him first all else will be added unto me.
