Ok, so I really don't have time for this...but...

A bunch has been going on around here.

I like numbered things, so :

1. I have started a word study on thoughts/imagination, hopefully I can post some of it on here pretty soon.

2. I got in a 3-car-wreck on Wednesday morning. It was not my fault, and my car is fine, the front grill is just pushed in, and the back bumper cracked the rest of the way (it was already cracked). Considering the car behind me was totaled, the front end smashed in, the airbags deployed, and the windshield shattered, I made out pretty good. I'm just a bit sore.

3. I got soaked (drenched, sopping, waterlogged, wringing-wet) from walking on the sidewalk and a car drove past (through a GIANT puddle) and created a nice sideways shower of dirty rain water for me. It was picturesque.

4. We are leaving for Dallas TOMORROW!!!! Bro David Servant is doing a couple of Home Church Conferences there with his wife and daughter Elisabeth whom we miss very much! And we get to visit the Shooks.

5. If any of you read the Heavens family newsletter, there was a girl from Haiti with albinism, I am now sponsoring her! Supercool! Her name is Yveline, and here is her picture! She is the last one on the right.

LSU spring semester

Ok, really quick:

1. God is doing SO MUCH! In my heart, and mind, and family!
2. I have a class in the Cox building this semester, the one with the really BIG doors, sorta exciting.
3. I like Moodle, the new LSU blackboard type thing, it is REALLY nifty, and I like it way better than blackboard, semesterbook, or personal websites.
4. I am only working 12 hours a week ( aren't you happy Deanna :) )
5. I am taking Chemistry, Biology, Biology Lab, Math, and Anthropology.
6. I need to do a tour of LSU to find where the rest of my classes will be, and the best place to park since I can only get myself to one parking lot.

Finals...finally

So I am very ready for the semester to be over.
I think I aced my Biology Lab fina yesterday, like I knew the answer to all but three, without even second guessing myself at all, and the three I didn't get, I knew at least half of it was 100% correct. It was all question and answer or fill in the blank. I was very excited!

Well, I am gonna finish studying for Math.

The Midnight Mischief Eggstravaganza Cont.

I was responsible for making most of the signs to go in the yard. Apparently my handwriting and spelling give me away. Here is a fine display of my artwork!

First post in like a month:

Ok, so I haven't posted in a while...oh well.



A sum up really quick before I have to go to class:

1. I am slowly getting better at the whole college thing.
2. I am 45th on a wait-list for a Chem lab I am looking at taking next semester.
3. LSU football is #1 again!
4. I found a really neat verse in Proverbs 5 the other day, I will try and find time to type it up and put it on here. I really liked it though.
5. The greatest classes ever created are Science Labs. I was talking to my current lab teacher, and found out that I really want to take the lab where you puncture a living frogs spinal cord, ( not kill him, just make it where it won't hurt him), then you slice him open and you can see his heart beating, you put a special type of forceps on his heart to measure the force,then you inject different medicines (the ones that effect the nerves) and see the changes in his heart rate, and the force put out by it. It sounded really cool.
6. I declined being on Tigervision today.
7. I have 3 weeks of classes left.
8. I have to go now.

If You Give a Norton a Cookie...

This is Bekah! I'm taking over Norton's blog today to tell you a little story... And so the saga begins.

Once upon a time (actually this was only last night) a very ambitious Norton P Butterworth decided to bake oodles of cookies for her lovely co-workers! The bookstore is dead because of "Fall Break", which apparently is cause for celebration. So enlisting my help, Norton P followed the step by step instructions I gave her for the cookie recipe while I cleaned the kitchen. All was going smoothly - the countertops were cleared and the dough was separated into 3 parts. 1 part for Chocolate Chips, 1 part for mini Resees Pieces, and 1 part for Oatmeal Raisin cookies. All ingredients were well blended and the dough was sampled (of course!) to insure quality. Perfect! Or so we thought... -insert doomsday music here-

So Norton greased a pan for the Chocolate Chip cookies, and I cautioned her that greasing the pan usually causes the dough to spread too quickly and the cookies to be crispy and thin, but it didn't matter for one batch, they would be fine! About 6 minutes later I took a peek into the oven. Puzzled with what I saw, I inquired of her, "Exactly how much did you grease that pan?" to which she responded, "Just a coating over it.." Odd.. Because those cookies really flattened!! There were 16 small clumps of Chocolate Chips protruding from a very thin layer of buttery sugar. Amber would've been devastated. The "cookies" were square from invading each others edges.

At this point my first thought was that the baking soda had been left out, but after quizzing the Norton on the amount she put into the flour mixture I was assured that couldn't be the problem. But I couldn't imagine what else it was! So I continued my interrogation with, "Did you put all 6 cups of flour?".. I could see the wheels spinning in her head as she mentally calculated the 1/2 cup measurements she'd dumped into the bowl. She said, "Yes! I put in 8........!" The heat rose on her face and we both started to laugh as realization dawned. 2 whole cups of flour were left out! Which, as you can imagine, makes a drastic difference in how your cookies bake. I proceeded to add the necessary amounts of flour to the remaining doughs.

Poor Norton P. I actually blushed for her! Part of what made this trial so funny to us is that the Nortonts last cookie escapade produced tasty Oatmeal Raisin cereal. Those cookies looked very pretty on the pan but crumbled into yummy bran flakes in your hand. Fortunately these cookies had a much better fate and after having flour added turned out to be quite tasty and pretty! From what she tells me the cookies were devoured by her co-workers. A happy ending!

The moral of this story is; If you give a Norton a cookie... she'll be very grateful that she didn't have to bake it herself! And she just might want some milk to go along with it.

I especially love the last few lines. I never thought about it like that. This man wrote this only 6 years ago, and his story is pretty cool. He has a story kinda like Elijah when he called down fire. I don't know if I should like his story or not, but either way I like his hymn. OK, I HAVE to go study!
