In response to BJ's question...

Yes we ask people, to "Please pull forward and we will bring it out to you in just a moment." The please HAS TO come first otherwise it sounds mean, and we get in trouble, It is hard for me to do that I always say, If you would please..., and they like me, so I get away with it.

If we have the next persons food, and the first persons is not up yet, even if it is like being wrapped up, we pull them forward, or park them ( ask them to pull into one of the first three parking places, and we will bring it right out) . It really depends on the manager. If we pull people, we get more cars per hour, the other day we had 100 cars with 79 seconds time from when the order was taken until the order was paid out meaning each customer generally had their foon in 85-87 seconds after placing it, which is good. We also had 35-40 second KSV time, meaning it only took that long for the ord to be made, which is really good.

I have had maybe two people say no, at which point, I leave the window, and let someone else present their order. One of my friends ha someone fall asleep, like snorring and everything, there was no one behind him, so they let him sleep. He went to show the manager, and after about five minutes, she went, "SIR" really loud, and he jumped, it was funny.


I try my hardest not to be the one bringing things out to the people though, because of when one of the customers threw the water at me. Generally if it is more than like three minutes we throw an apple pie in the bag, it keeps them coming back.

Picture this...

12 teenagers running McDonald's durring a rush, because the manager on duty quit. CRAZY, CRAZY day. I have 50 billion pounds of homework, so I will have to post later. I get to read the Mayor of Casterbridge for a report though, which is awesome, I haven't gotten to read a book for leisure all year, and I am making this count, since I like the story.

I AM SOOOOO EXCITED!!!! I GET TO GO TO BARNES AND NOBLES WITH SOME OF MY FRIENDS FROM SCHOOL MAYBE. AAAAHHHHH.....WHHHHHHOOOOOOOO-HOOOOOOOOOO.....YYYYIIIIIIIPPPPPIIIIIIEEEEE.....IT'S SATURDAY.....NO SCHOOL UNTIL MONDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!AND A TRIP TO THE BOOKSTORE, THIS IS SO MUCH FUN I DON'T KNOW WHEN THIS WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. we should play nertz soon. i served a deaf person at work, I felt kinda bad because i kept talKing to him, i guess if forgot, over and over again, for five minutes. but OH WELL!!!!!bye

Unnecessary

So, I am home for a few minutes on break. I got a glass of water dumped on me by a costumer. They were asked to pull forward for a moment, while they were finishing getting their order. Well, I was asked to bring it to them. I greeted them, thanked them, and apologized for the wait. Then when I am walking away they flung a water all over me. Not some small amount either. It was a group of teenage boys, and one girl. I know the girl, but she doesn't know me. I know her name was Melissa, and that she had braces, and that she talks very softly, and in high girlish tones. But, that was how I started out my day...Soaked. My hair is still wet, and that was at 8:30 this morning. OK, well I just wanted to say that it was odd, and now even seems kinda funny, not many people have that happen to them. But, I have to get back to work.

Fun day at work.

I just got paid to laugh my head off. We have a crew room, and the boss, along with all the crew, huddle in there to watch a weekly fight between 3-10 of the workers, It is hilarious. Today there were only three people, one white guy who acts black, and two black guys. It was so funny. A black girl tried to get in, but the guy wouldn't hit a girl, so she whooped him.

The world of McDonalds...

SO I had to stay late today, I was cleaning, I can now do front counter though, I am not good at filling the orders. I made apple pies again today, but this time I put the correct military time (rather than 4 am as I did the other day.), but only after putting the current time first, so I had to go back and mark them again. I got slippers, they look like really puffy chucks (Bekah talked me into them). We are about to have prayer, so I must go. I won't post for a few days, because I will be working, or doing homework.

What were these kids thinking????

I get to work, and am told to clean the lobby. So for a hour I wipe, sweep, and mop every surface not behind the counter at McDonald's. Then 20 minutes later I go back out to find that a group of teenagers found pleasure by standing on the bench and stepping on a package of ketchup just to watch it explode all over the wall. So I get a rag and begin cleaning...Again. I doubt that you know that McDonald's walls are leaves, yup, leaves with tons of grooves for ketchup to stuck in.
Then Mr. Cup of Caramel came back today, and once again I was on fries ALL DAY LONG... but then I got off early!!

Oh yeah, when on break I came home and ordered these:
It won't show up, but you will see them in 8-10 business days.

I may conform once I get my next pay check and get an iPod, and I will be able to drive our new car by Friday hopefully, whenever we get the license and title.

My Day...

Don't come to McDonalds for like 2 months Bj, that way I will have time to get the order taking process down pat for people like you, and those who prolly talk fast, and get frustrated when they talk fast and I get it wrong, and I have to fix it.

And I don't like any of the food we serve, not a one thing. Maybe the ice cream cone, but now I am sick of it.

And I got put on asembly today, that was interesting, imagine: me make a burger in like 5 seconds, thats never gonna happen. It is supposed to be neat is it not, so why not try to put the mustard and katsup in the middle. I also realized that I HATE tarter sauce, mayonaise, and onions, but I like putting the mayo, tarter, and sipcy chicken sauce on the buns, it is in a tube like caulk, and that is one of my favorite things to do.

And when I make McFlurries I sling ice cream everywhere, and when I make ice cream cone, the look like Buddha sitting on a cone.

And I also burned myself while making grits, I had gotten through the whole process w/o burning anything, then when I was pouring them into the serving container, a drop fell on my wrist / thumb/I don't know what part of my hand. Then directly after that I burned my inner elbow/??? with the biscut pan. So every time I put my hand in the oven mit, it made the burn all hot, and hurt.

And then I washed dishes for like 2 hours, then I nearly fell and broke my neck when I was put on grill, and there was a puddle, and I stepped right in it. My bottom was an inch from tha floor when I caught myself, just in time for no one to see me.

The grossest things I have seen since working @ McDonalds:

1) When we cook meat we scrape the grill, and we have to push it to the side and into a little catching thing, well, that means eggs, chicken, and meat scrappings all get pushed to the side and mixed with all the grease, that comes with it. So you have a bucket of black gooky mess that is added to every day, and just sits in the back.

2) I saw an egg under the dish drying cart, It had been there a LONG, LONG time.

3) A man asked for a sundae cup full of caramel.(gross!!)

4) The stuff they put in a breakfast burrito.( frozen scrambled eggs,(really nasty), frozen bell peppers, and a nasty thing that stinks

A perk to working there, is that when there is something under my nails, all I have to do is wallk to the sink and use its pressure washer like sprayer to clean it out.

Llamas

I was put on back windo for like 2 hours tonight, and why can't people just get what they order, w/o changing everything. I can't hit the buttons fast enough, nor take money and an order at the same time, then it never stops, people always come, then when it does stop, it is like a desert, with tumbleweed rollin' down the drive thru lane. And to make it worse I had the "Llama, llama, duck" song stuck in my head, but I kept singing "Llama, llama, cheescake" for some reason.

McDonalds provides my uniform. Right down to the tapered black pants. I may be altering those. But, the lady said that she is going to talk to them and see if she can talk them into raising my pay just a tad. But as soon as they enact the new bill about minimum wage I should get a raise. Gotta go to school now. Bye.

Yo tengo trabajo a McDonald's

So, I now have a job at McDonalds, and I go in wednesday to see about orientation and all. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to give 2 weeks notice, because I don't know how, and I am kinda nervous. Yup, so everybody needs to come to the McDonalds in Central, on monday,friday, saturday, and sunday. I think it will all be in the evenings, except for on saturday. I get to wear a t-shirt to work though, which is cool. I don't get paid hardly at ll, but I get a raise every 6 months. 99% of the people that work there, atend my school, so it is fun for me.
I have a research paper due friday, and two English lessons thursday. and I have to read like 20 pages in chemistry by tomorrow, so I have to go NOW!! Love yall,
