I have a ton of energy right now

I am so incredibly excited that it is now springtime and a weekend!!! Things have been oh so crazy for oh so long, that I think crazy is becoming normal so it doesn't feel crazy any more. I dropped my physics class, which is one less thing for me to freak about, and frees up a boat load of time for me to study! Whoo-hoo for more study time! Kinda, because that now means that I actually have to fill that time with studying.

Lets make a list:

1. My crazy avocado paper got turned in today. Finally!!! I only started it, what, 8 WEEKS ago!!But I really like that class:

a) because the topics of conversation are HILARIOUS!

b) my classmates are super fun in general

c) it is cancelled A LOT

d) the slow pace is a reprieve from my other fast paced classes.

2. I am starting an argument paper and picking the topic is hard because there are so many good topics that I can't seem to pick.

3. There are only 2 months left in the semester!! Crazy!! Yet awesome all at the same time!

4. I have been spending some time thinking this week about how much of a self talker I am. Really. It seems like ALL DAY long I am constantly talking myself into and out of doing things. I have talked myself into lunch, studying, sleeping, "napping", reading a book in class despite being rude", not reading a book in class because it would be rude", and so many more things that I couldn't begin to list.

5. I want to go to next weeks baseball game. I think I have more school spirit for non-football sports than for football. Not that I don't have school spirit for football, just more for other things.

6. I am listening to Bekah sing rather off key while she is "tanning" in my parents backyard. I say tanning like that because it is really burning, she just doesn't want to believe that.

7. Bekah and I are at my parents house tonight because our AC is broken. She had wanted to stay here anyway, but I wanted to wait and just come over here in the morning. She got her way by default.

8. I read Utopia by Thomas More just because I saw it in the bookstore, and it had a pretty cover, and it was mentioned in Ever After which is a movie that I like very much. That was one of the things I self-talked myself into buying, then reading instead of studying, then possibly using to further my argument for prohibition of alcohol in my argument paper. I have since self-talked myself out of using that as a topic due to the lack of current media on the topic.)

9. I love, love, love pickles. Dill pickles that is. Cindy got me some. She is awesome. Sometimes I think I cohabitate (is that the right word? Is that a word at all actually) better with her than I do with Bekah.

10. A sister is a really great thing to have. I miss all of mine.

11. I am really enjoying where I am at in life right now. Though I am constantly thinking about things I need to do that would make where I am at more productive for myself in the long run, I need to do those things.

12. I am taking the MCAT in the fall. Just for practice, I'm sure I will take it again. Yay for med-school entrance exams.

13. Some goofy person on Greenwell Springs Road (the same road that I live on) paid $20 for me to ship them a stupid diploma frame rather than just drive to LSU and pick one up. I was quite frustrated with them earlier this week because it was quite the hassle. If it were not rude and unprofessional I would write them a letter informing them of their utter stupidity regarding this matter.

14. I am bored with this now. So I am going to stop and go back to browsing el interneto.

Random thought for the day:

The phrase:

"That which doesn't kill me will only make me stronger."

I don't know, this is very random. Could that contradict the Christian spiritual relm. Like, if something doesn't work to help kill our flesh would it be working to make it stronger? Kinda? I just heard that, and it made me start thinking about every action, and am I continually working to kill my flesh.

I think something fun to do would be to do a random thouoght for the day. It would take like a minute, and it is fun, and could be very funny. Maybe I will start doing that.

Taking every thought captive

I look at my schedule and then I loose all excitement. Then I wander off, and everytime I see anything, a pencil, a button, my backpack, any yellow, gold, or purple object,a cat - similar to a tiger, article of history ( I learned random history facts about LSU), just about anything, I get excited all over again. Crazy, but fun all at the same time.

L S of U

Ok, from what I understand, on Mon, Wed, and Fri I have Chemistry, then right after that Biology. And on Wed I have Biology lab, Chemistry, and then Biology. That should be fun. Tues. and Thur. I have Math and then English. I got credit for my freshman Eng. and am in the 2nd math (who cares). But since I finished the Engl. already I am taking a Engl. Lit. because I have to have 6 hours of it for my degree. So I am taking a class on British Authors. I am going to try and get on the Latin waitlist, but I don't have any expectations of actually getting in.

The cubicle things in the library are for grad. students, and teachers. I amde the mistake of asking my dad when you would be qualified as a "graduate student". I wasn't sure because I am tecnically not in college, but in the University for your Freshman Year, or something like that. So I thought maybe after you "graduate" from that to the College of "..." then you would be able to get a cubicle. Nope, you have to graduate to be a graduate student. It could be confusing. Better than, "London, who would want to go to LONDON? Do they even speak English there?"

Oh, I will be going to the College of Basic Sciences. Studying Biological Sciences, majoring in Biology, for now at least.

Well, I am going to go sit on the back porch, and study my English for my final test tomorrow. It smells so nice outside right now, the rain has made the sweet olive tree enchanting. And it is not too hot in the shade, if only I could always study in these settings. Hopefully it will rain everyday in college. REALLY, I hope it doesn't, that would make bike riding really impossible. Speaking of which, many people jerry rigged a crate basket to the handle bar! I love it! The only problem I may have with that is whether it will make steering harder, or block my view of bumps or small rodents. But, I can deal with that later.

I won.

The Joys of Poison Ivy.

OK, scratching = nausea, but scratching also = relief for a minute or 2. I hate poison ivy, and I hate Calamine lotion.

I didn't know that it turned your skin pink for a day or so. So I read the bottle and it said it removed the oil from the stuff, so I figured it would remove it from my face too. So I painted it all over my face...yeah I was pink. I must have washed my face 20 times before it actually went away all the way. I now have a love-hate relationship with Calamine lotion.

And that is all I have to say about that.

Calamine Lotion is my savior.

Ok, for the past week I have had what we thought to be bug bites, but it is spreading. I know now that it is poison ivy. I have no earthly idea where it came from, but it is there, and I HATE IT!!!!! I don't see the purpose for the plant, I mean there are hundreds of other leaves for things to eat, why create this one, why?

I am seriously considering deleting my blog, I mean...how much time do I WASTE on here?

My 150th post

OK, so after weeks of pondering my nearly fatal jump, I figured it out. While jumping over a medium sized puddle, I watched my feet. Yes, my legs are long, so the jump is possible, however, after I "leap" I pull my foot back in about 6 inches. The result is my foot falls about 6 inches shy of the targeted landing space. This was found out when I landed smack dab in the middle of the puddle.

On another note, I will be getting my replacement phone in 5-6 business days.

Re-vamp

In case I haven't told anyone for the past week I HATE the dog. If I didn't hate it before, I really hate it now. The tears and drama to follow are now stirred with the fact that the dog has to go, before I poison it. I moved the red couch out to the street yesterday. And today I will be painting. It actually might look good. I have a fun filled day ahead of me!

I was just thinking...

If I could win any contest in the world, and they offered me an unending supply of something, I would choose fresh white socks, a pair for every day, and sometimes two pairs a day.

Yo tengo trabajo a McDonald's

So, I now have a job at McDonalds, and I go in wednesday to see about orientation and all. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to give 2 weeks notice, because I don't know how, and I am kinda nervous. Yup, so everybody needs to come to the McDonalds in Central, on monday, friday, saturday, and sunday. I think it will all be in the evenings, except for on saturday. I get to wear a t-shirt to work though, which is cool. I don't get paid hardly at ll, but I get a raise every 6 months. 99% of the people that work there, atend my school, so it is fun for me.
I have a research paper due friday, and two English lessons thursday. and I have to read like 20 pages in chemistry by tomorrow, so I have to go NOW!! Love yall,

Jo

P.S.- I just realized people could call me that, but can think of onlly one person that I would want to call me that (and it is no one that I have met yet) . So, nobody call me that.

One two buckle my shoe...

Three four shut the door. This is how you have to look at a quilt, because if you don't then you will hyper-ventilate because you are so overwhelmed. One teeny tiny centemeter at a time. takes like a year. Quilting is harder than I thought. I spent an entire day with my mom which is cool, but as far as my quilt that I spent an entire day working on, I have all of no blocks done. I lie, I have one, but it's ugly so I am not using it. I think it will take forever to finish this stupid thing. Yhe only people who read this thing will prolly get sick of heearing me talk about my quilt, because it will prolly take like a month. You don't understand, See you have to cut the fabric within 1/8 ofan inch, really 1/16 otherwise your quilt WILL NOT come out right in any way. It is freakishly meticulous and repetitive. oh yeah did I mention that I am making a quilt for a queen sized bed, and no piece is larger than an inch snd s hslf by four and one hslf inches, so it takes forever. CRAZY!!
