"Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing." john 15:4-5

I have a ton of energy right now

It is quite pathetic. I know.
Quick update:
I am entering the 5th week of my 4th semester at LSU.
I switched my major to Kinesiology: Human Movement Science -physical therapy pretty much.
I love living in an apt with my sister.
I think I may go to Mexico with the BCM over spring break (tentatively- Cindy says that they are shooting up all the white people down there).
I have 3 tests this week so this will be a short post.
Something timely:
This past weekend has been so refereshing and brought me such a peace. I don't really know what to say other than God is doing a mighty work in my heart that is producing a change in my actions and outlook.
Isaiah 54: 4-8 kind of sums it up ( it is talking about God's covenant of peace)
4"Do not fear, for you will not be ashamed; Neither be
disgraced, for you will not be put to shame; For you will forget the shame of
your youth, And will not remember the reproach of your widowhood anymore.
5 For your Maker is your husband, The LORD of hosts is
His name; And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel; He is called the God of
the whole earth.
6 For the LORD has called you Like a woman
forsaken and grieved in spirit, Like a youthful wife when you were refused,"
Says your God.
7 "For a mere moment I have forsaken you, But with
great mercies I will gather you.
8 With a little wrath I hid My face from you for a
moment; But with everlasting kindness I will have mercy on you," Says the LORD,
your Redeemer."

My theatre professor said she likes house church, so I figured I would tell her more about it...
Choose any familiar space where people gather. Discuss the dynamics involved in how people move in this space, how they address one another, and how the experience allows for any sort of communal engagement.
And I answered it like this:
Text below includes a bit of commentary that is in orange.
When asked to name a familiar place where people gather, the first place that comes to mind is Bob’s house. Every Sunday morning, and even during the week, multiple people gather there to discuss what God has shown us in our time with Him. This is where we, the Church, meaning the people who make up the body of Christ - not a building, meet. Bob’s house is not huge, but it holds the 10-15 of us who comprise this house church. We move and function rather like a family in a house does. At any time I could go grab a bit to eat out of the fridge ( It's not like it's not on the counter waiting for me to snatch a piece), or hop on the computer to “Google” something ( or get Bob or Beege to look up what the thorax of a monkey is so that I can continue to make my stinkin' note cards) , just like a member of the household. I may even go pick up the living room. ( Not that Mrs. Sharon keeps a messy house, just that all us cold people like to drag out every blanket ever made and then leave them all over the place with our pillows)I address everyone as if they were my family (essentially we are family in Christ), and they address me like-wise. People gather in the living room, kitchen, or around the table and just “hang-out” until everyone gets there. Then around 10:30am (if we are lucky) everybody goes into one room to collectively talk about all that God has shown us. It’s not any formal meeting with one person talking the whole time telling you how to be a Christian; it is the body of Christ communing. Here there is no “head-honcho”; there is no child, simply Saints. Every person has the exact same opportunity to hear from God as a “pastor” or “preacher” does. And in the house, everyone can share the revelation from God that they have received. Or they can share the verse that has made the difference in how their week has gone, or simply how they have been changed to be more like Christ that week. There is no one person who is too young to speak, some house churches have 4 and 5 year olds that bring a Word from the Lord that revolutionizes the way that we see things. If you have a question, you ask it. If you have a Word, you speak it. If you have a song, you sing it. No one is spoken down to and no one is demeaned. Everyone is there to uplift and exhort the body of Christ, even in a gentle rebuke. This is the “communal engagement”. ( Just so you know, the term "communal engagement" was how my Anth. teacher described the gathering on monkeys, and now that I have related that term to house church, I automatically picture us as the gathering of a bunch of monkeys). The entire lifestyle of the Saints is a “communal engagement”. Think about it like the human body. Each part of the body is in constant communion with the rest of the body. Each part works together in harmony (communion) to function; the heart, lungs, hands and feet all have their role, and if they don’t fulfill that role then the entire body is hindered and can’t function as it was designed to. The arm simply cannot pop off and decide not to function for a day, it must fulfill its role every moment of every day. If it did pop off, then the blood would not be able to get to it, and it would eventually loose everything that made it alive. Like-wise, a member of the body if Christ must be in constant communion with Christ, and His people. I cannot cease to function without hindering the rest of the body of Christ. And choosing not to function would mean that the blood of, which gives me life, would no longer be able to flow in and through me. The gathering of the Saints is the communal engagement, and it just happens to be at Bob’s house.
Oh, and this is my official 200th post. I didn't want that last goofy thing to be my real 200th post, not that this is much better, but still...

Ok, so I really don't have time for this...but...
I like numbered things, so :
1. I have started a word study on thoughts/imagination, hopefully I can post some of it on here pretty soon.
2. I got in a 3-car-wreck on Wednesday morning. It was not my fault, and my car is fine, the front grill is just pushed in, and the back bumper cracked the rest of the way (it was already cracked). Considering the car behind me was totaled, the front end smashed in, the airbags deployed, and the windshield shattered, I made out pretty good. I'm just a bit sore.
3. I got soaked (drenched, sopping, waterlogged, wringing-wet) from walking on the sidewalk and a car drove past (through a GIANT puddle) and created a nice sideways shower of dirty rain water for me. It was picturesque.
4. We are leaving for Dallas TOMORROW!!!! Bro David Servant is doing a couple of Home Church Conferences there with his wife and daughter Elisabeth whom we miss very much! And we get to visit the Shooks.
5. If any of you read the Heavens family newsletter, there was a girl from Haiti with albinism, I am now sponsoring her! Supercool! Her name is Yveline, and here is her picture! She is the last one on the right.

LSU spring semester
1. God is doing SO MUCH! In my heart, and mind, and family!
2. I have a class in the Cox building this semester, the one with the really BIG doors, sorta exciting.
3. I like Moodle, the new LSU blackboard type thing, it is REALLY nifty, and I like it way better than blackboard, semesterbook, or personal websites.
4. I am only working 12 hours a week ( aren't you happy Deanna :) )
5. I am taking Chemistry, Biology, Biology Lab, Math, and Anthropology.
6. I need to do a tour of LSU to find where the rest of my classes will be, and the best place to park since I can only get myself to one parking lot.

First post in like a month:
A sum up really quick before I have to go to class:
1. I am slowly getting better at the whole college thing.
2. I am 45th on a wait-list for a Chem lab I am looking at taking next semester.
3. LSU football is #1 again!
4. I found a really neat verse in Proverbs 5 the other day, I will try and find time to type it up and put it on here. I really liked it though.
5. The greatest classes ever created are Science Labs. I was talking to my current lab teacher, and found out that I really want to take the lab where you puncture a living frogs spinal cord, ( not kill him, just make it where it won't hurt him), then you slice him open and you can see his heart beating, you put a special type of forceps on his heart to measure the force, then you inject different medicines (the ones that effect the nerves) and see the changes in his heart rate, and the force put out by it. It sounded really cool.
6. I declined being on Tigervision today.
7. I have 3 weeks of classes left.
8. I have to go now.
Fun talking to you!

Threadless making friends
I went to ask my Biology teacher a question today, and like just as I sat down a girl cam and asked me if I got my shirt from Threadless, and I was like yeah, and she was like, by brother designed that shirt, and I was like oh, that's cool, and she was like, My name is Jessica, and I was like I am Jordan, and then she was like, OK, well enjoy the class, and she walked away.
That could have been a mouthful if I had to say that.
And so I am one step closer to getting a Biology buddie Hols, ( oh, and question one on the quiz was false because it was not in relation to the R groups, but to the backbone-crazy confusing R groups).
And here is a fun definition that I learned today:
Entropy (S) is the quantitative measure of disorder that is proportional to randomness.
An esoteric thought from biology: I am only here in any sort of order because I have created a ton of randomness. " We are massive creators of randomness!"

College
Top 5 things I hate about college:
1.) Computer testing, what is wrong with a good ole' scan tron and #2 pencil?
2.) 5 hours in the Math Lab- once you do your homework, what else is there to do...more homework, I am over halfway done with my homework for the entire semester, and I should be done with the whole semesters homework by the end of the month, maybe...depending on how bored I get in there and how much time I waste staring at the screen while I warm my hands from the freezing cold air.
3.) Atmosphere that is generated by 99.99999999% of the students on campus - and after today I am NEVER picking up a copy of the daily reveille, it was horrible, and I don't need to know about news like that
4.) Rain, chucks aren't very waterproof, and so my feet get soaked, and then I have to sit in freezing cold classrooms for hours which turns my feet into ice cubes.
5.) The amount of hours than are (supposed to be) put into studying ( I don't think I have this part down yet, like I always get it all read, and all my stuff done, but I could be better about it)
Top 2 things I like about college:
1.) My Chemistry teacher sound EXACTLY like Ernie from Sesame Street.
2.) Biology Lab - can't go wrong there ( We have been studying the rate of the reaction of catalysts. I found the effect of varying enzyme sources on the rate of the oxidation of catechol to Benzoquinone by catechol oxidase. We got to use a spectrophotometer, we "trick" it by finding the absorbency of a blank and the switching it to transmittance and inserting the Treatment tubes which then tells us the absorbency of it, which we used to find the concentration and the standard deviation. I learned how to graph my data using Excel. It was REALLY fun!)
This video is SO COOL!!!! Only watch this if you like biology, namely cells...it has won awards and things, a group of people and some students from Harvard put it together, it is really cool.

Nobody noticed our new blogger!!!!
No, I am not going crazy!! I didn't really like the teacher. But so you don't think I am totally backslidden(sp?-is it even a word?), I will tell you the other half of my news. I am taking Chem 1201 sec 006. A friend of mine is in there, and another friend of mines older sister who is a Chem major at LSU took that teacher, and said that he was one of her favorite teachers yet, so I killed two birds with one stone, and I now don't have to rush from class to class on Mon, Wed, and Fri. Well, I would love to chat, but off to Math Lab I go!

MyMathLab
I LOVE Biology Lab, it was way way more fun than I figured. But I mean, mix labs and biology, and you get the greatest thing ever invented ( I mean come on , biology labs are what made me love biology, so how bad could it be...yeah...real torture). I will post what we did today later, for the select few that care. No lab next week though, so that stinks. My teachers name is Lucas, no Dr. , no Prof. . He is a third year grad. student...short...punkish. I don't know...he knows what he is talking about, and gets the point across well without it being boring. We got out at like 9:45am, so I called "Jordan's Personal Help Service "(Deanna), where I was street-light by street-light directions to Co-op, where I got my English book. Then, I went downtown with Bekah for lunch, where we got smoothies, and walked to capitol park. While there, my headphones fell and hit the backside of my leg. That is when I stood up and screamed (in my usual fashion) freaking out because I thought a squirrel hit me ( my first thought was that a bird bit me, but that was ruled out after I figured that squirrels were more aggressive). Everyone in the park turned and looked. My face went red, and we left. I then called my other help service (My Dad) to get back to campus.
And now I am here. ( Middlton Library)
I have a quiz in English tomorrow. I left my book in the car, otherwise I would be studying right now. It is actually two books, and together they are like 3 inches thick. The pages are super thin, like the kind you find in bibles, and that is the condensed version, I don't even want to know what their regular version looks like. But... I am going to go check the schedule at the bookstore (which by the way Deanna was only a Barnes and Nobles since 2000, you were right), then I am headed to Chemistry 1201. ( I wanted a 1001 class just so that I could say ten o one, but it didn't happen.)

ok, my first post-college post
I got to the basement of Allen hall, and after having a difficult time finding the stairs that lead to the basement. Then after waiting patiently in a hall filled with people, I got to go in. Once in I sat in the desk right in between the teachers desk, and the podium where she taught from. The teacher wasn't there yet, and after sitting for like 5 minutes a guy comes in and is like , " This is poetry isn't it?" and the girl behind him says, "yeah". I just about freaked out, because I wasn't sure if my class was for sure in that room, and then she said it was poetry, and I could have died because it was 1:41pm, which meant I would be late for my class if I had to switch rooms. I was in the right room he was supposed to be in 131 ( i was in 31), and all was well after that. But English sounds like it will be fun, I can write all my papers sooner than later because I have access to the topics, so that will be good, and I can just revise them as we cover the topic. The bonus for that class is aggravating because you have to attend little mini seminar thingies (sp?), and write a mini journal on it.
I want to let you all know that I have not yet had to use a map while on campus, and I only officially got lost once, the other two times I was in the right building.
I also want you all to know that I will most likely be staying on at the bookstore. A manager today asked me if I would like to, and then asked for my class schedule, so that is a good sign.
I am trying to gather all of my thoughts to post something that actually matters in the whole scope of eternity, but for now you will just have to live with this.
Oh, and one last thing, I am officially through with the staying up late and stuff except on weekends...and then only when I don't have to work the next day. I have done good, I have gotten in bed by 7:45 every night this week.

My third first day at a new job...
Now for the fun stuff:
My first day was great!
Layout:
The registers are in sets of two's... like little sections that allow two people to stand next to each other while working.
Experience:
I chose to get the register next to the old employee, everyone else was too chicken I guess. That was good because I got to help do the more important stuff that the other people missed out on. What made it fun? Well for those of you that liked playing with the kid registers when you were younger, it was just like that but grown up style, and you are working with real money. Way better that Winn-Dixie where you scan it, you get to use the portable type of scanner where you press the button and run it over the bar code, the only other time I got to use one of those was when I volunteered to check-in the returned books at the school library. I loved it!
Friends:
I know one of my new co-workers, we went to middle school together at a tiny school with only 27 people, so I got to know everyone well. It was nice to have someone I knew there, and I made a new friend, Holly, within my first 5 minutes of being there. I also got to know a couple of the old workers, and I exchanged names with all of the new people too. The only hard thing is remembering the names.
Next, I think I am going to remove myself from the Latin waitlist, Spanish is sounding ...alright...? I START SCHOOL IN 213 hours and 30 minutes.

Dumb jobs...
I have to work Saturday from 9-6, and Sunday from 10-6. What happened to Barnes and Nobles not being open on Sundays??? I am not very happy with them right now. I don't think I want to stay with them very long, from what I have seen they are not very efficient in what they do, I mean really it ain't that hard...They have hired like 3o people for RUSH, and trained them all, and then when I completed training like they said, and at the first date that they offered to complete it, and I call (like they said to) to get my schedule, they say I am not on it, and then I leave my name and number and they will call back. No call, so I call them, and get the rudest person giving me the brush over and I just to find out my schedule the way they said to. So I call and ask to talk to my manager to find an explanation as to why I am not on the schedule, and to perhaps get on the schedule, and he says I have to work Sunday. Not cool dude. Not cool!

Taking every thought captive
L S of U
The cubicle things in the library are for grad. students, and teachers. I amde the mistake of asking my dad when you would be qualified as a "graduate student". I wasn't sure because I am tecnically not in college, but in the University for your Freshman Year, or something like that. So I thought maybe after you "graduate" from that to the College of "..." then you would be able to get a cubicle. Nope, you have to graduate to be a graduate student. It could be confusing. Better than, "London, who would want to go to LONDON? Do they even speak English there?"
Oh, I will be going to the College of Basic Sciences. Studying Biological Sciences, majoring in Biology, for now at least.
Well, I am going to go sit on the back porch, and study my English for my final test tomorrow. It smells so nice outside right now, the rain has made the sweet olive tree enchanting. And it is not too hot in the shade, if only I could always study in these settings. Hopefully it will rain everyday in college. REALLY, I hope it doesn't, that would make bike riding really impossible. Speaking of which, many people jerry rigged a crate basket to the handle bar! I love it! The only problem I may have with that is whether it will make steering harder, or block my view of bumps or small rodents. But, I can deal with that later.
I won.
Mingle2 - Online Dating
I got my schedule too. I will let you know what it is when I figure everything out, including the times and stuff.
And it was poison ivy, because the meds. the Dr. gave me are making the rash go away.

Orientation
I have realized the depth of my inferiority as a freshman today, I can not wait for this semester to go by, then I won't be quite so new to it all.
I think I blinked for my ID picture.
I get my schedule manana- I will be studying Basic sciences for now.
I don't like the Ritaza ( o lo que cerea) coffee shop, never going there again.
I got some scan trons, and blue books.
I will prolly be riding my bike, and the reason there are no bike trails on campus is because you are supposed to ride in the streets like a car. I want to get a bell, so I can inform walkers of my presence w/o the "Hey, coming through!!!" I
Tigerware is the coolest!
I don't like being referred to as a "tiger". When anyone of any authority talks to me, they are like, " Hey, you're a tiger now." *sticks tongue out- and gags*
There is an automatic membership to the LSU health club with your Student fee/membership. They have racquetball, and it is free. SO AWESOME!!! Tennis too.
My mind may be on overload, and I will have to de-bog my memory for the rest of the week.
I think the PAWS calendar is dumb, but I will most definitely consider getting a planner.
I got some cool study tips, and planning guides.
And most of all, I can't wait to start!
P.S.- Rat-patooie was ridiculously DUMB. NEVER want to see it again in my life.

Any news on skydiving?
On another note, I got LSU colored eyeshadow, never to be worn to school, maybe.
All of my registration papers have been faxed, and my immunization papers, etc.
I decided just to take the Alg. test, I figure that I should take the science classes even if I may have tested out, considering that it will be a major part of what I am studying.
The new phone I got, yeah, right out of the package the 6 key is jammed. Naturally the first thing I did was text, and it made for rather difficult texting. I will take it to the store tomorrow, and see if they can fix it.
Well, I have to go finish up my English III ( I have been putting it off, I hate re-doing reports, you have to change so much, I would almost rather just re-writing the whole thing, almost.)
